We finally made it to Bogota!!

                                                        WE ARE HERE
Praise the Lord we made it! We arrived with ALL of our bags. It's totally amazing. Wednesday night, our last night, our church prayed for us and we said final goodbyes to sweet friends. My dad had to finish building a house, i know, crazy right?, and finish packing so he stayed in Memphis. My mom, Brook and I headed down with our carry-on bags to Southaven, MS. To meet at Mi Peublo for dinner with my mom's side of the family. We loaned a 15 passenger van, from our church for our 27 bags, that my dad would bring the next morning, to the airport. We arrived at 9:30 with my grandparents, and met my dad there at the airport. My dad brought along one of his close friends to help him. We had my dad, his friend, my grandfather, my mom, a man from the airport, and myself helping with the luggage. It still took us one hour to get it from the van, to the checking point, & then check all of  it. My dad bought two huge boxes, that he and myself packed IN the Memphis airport. Crazy, i know. After we finally packed everything, and all of the luggage was checked, we said goodbye to my grandparents. It was especially hard saying goodbye to them, because we see them all the time, so that's one more thing that's going to be different. Once we wiped most of the tears away, we hauled our carry-ons through security and settled into our gate. Thankfully, our flight didn't take off till 11:30, so we had a little time. With all of our 27 bags plus our carry-ons we flew to Atlanta. We had a 3 hour layover in Atlanta. The first thing we did was find the nearest Chick-Fil-a. You never know how good something is till you don't have it. Soon we headed to our gate. Being the only Americans in the gate was a little scary, but we are just going to have to get used to it. The take off was oh so scary. There is no turning back now! But i was soon relaxed reading about the royal tour and Kate!! The flight from Atlanta is only 4 hours, so its not bad at all. As soon as we got off the plane it really was the most weirdest, shocking, intense feeling. All the signs were in Spanish, all the people were Colombians. Once we finally got to customs none of the people spoke English. It took 5 minutes to say, ''we are here for work.'' The lady was very kind, but she just didn't speak any English. As i said before all of our bags arrived with us! What a relief!! Transporting 27 bags plus our carry-ons, just ourselves was NOT so fun. After some hard work, some gentlemen came and offered to help, and as you can guess we gladly excepted. We soon saw some old friends who we knew from Memphis, who are missionaries down here, (not with MTW). O my gosh it was so so good to see a face that we knew. Our team leader and one other leader from MTW came to help us too, so that was good as well!! We were sooo thirsty after all of that, but our sweet missionary friends got us safe bottled water & some sandwiches, knowing that we would be thirsty & hungry. They had ordered van to come & get our 27 bags. We rode with our friends, because there was NO room for us in that van!!! We are now staying with some other MTW missionary family, who we just met last night for the first time. They have an eleven year old girl and an eight year old son. We haven't met their kids yet, because they were asleep last night, and had school this morning, and then had other stuff after school, so we won't meet them till later. We had lunch at this place called Crepes & Waffels. I DID EAT THERE! and it was pretty good. I had some type of cheese (it wasn't cheddar, because they don't have that here) with peeta bread. After lunch we went to the local grocery store. It was so interesting seeing how much more things cost down here. Everything is at least double the price than what you would normally find in the States.
at lunch Brook got a grape smoothie/drink
my meal, WHICH I DID EAT
